HEAD OF SCHOOLS WELCOME LETTER

Dear Parents and Families,

It is with great joy that I welcome you to The SAE School, a unique preschool through 8th grade community where learning is purposeful, engaging, and designed to inspire curiosity in every child.

At The SAE School, we are proud to be a Project-Based Assessment (PBA) school, where students don’t just memorize facts, they actively apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. Our focus on Science, the Arts, and Entrepreneurship gives children the opportunity to think critically, solve problems creatively, and collaborate with others as they grow into confident and capable learners.

We believe every child has the potential to make meaningful contributions, and our nurturing environment encourages students to explore their passions, develop resilience, and embrace the joy of discovery. By combining rigorous academics with hands-on learning, we prepare our students not only for the next stage of their education but also for life beyond the classroom.

As you explore our website, I invite you to learn more about how The SAE School fosters innovation, creativity, and critical thinking in a supportive and caring community. We are honored to partner with you in your child’s educational journey and look forward to building a strong connection between home and school.

Welcome to The SAE School, where curiosity is encouraged, talents are celebrated, and futures are built.

Warm regards,
Desmond Bobbett

CULTURE AND CLIMATE

DISCOVER: Through Life Coaching, teachers are actively listening and understanding the dynamics of their students to establish a trusting learning environment. By discovering details of your students and building strong relationships, the ability to reach students academically will be strengthened. Trust is developed in the discovery stage.

NURTURE: The process of establishing a nurturing environment begins with understanding the goals of the student. Nurture is defined as training, upbringing. As educators within The SAE School, we must nurture students by focusing on increasing rigor in the classroom holistically expanding within their zones of proximal development. The collaboration students experience within the classroom, amongst teachers and peers, greatly impacts the application of our student’s knowledge of concepts.

PROTECT: Once a teacher discovers and nurtures a student’s love of learning, we must protect their journey. In protection, offering a safe environment for all students will drive that force. Offering a listening ear with mentorship during life coaching, or having the school counselor available to help navigate, the day to day trials students may face academically or socially. Through active restorative practices and proper responses for actions it will protect students from mistakes that may be made in the future.

WHAT WE DO

Through the disciplines of science, art, and entrepreneurship, we utilize a progressive project-based learning approach to nurture each student’s learning journey.

We facilitate engaging, hands-on learning experiences throughout the core content areas. We focus on individualized learning. We plan projects and activities with the student’s interests in mind to differentiate instructional experiences. This allows us to engage all learning styles. Our teachers have the autonomy to increase rigor for students with a higher capacity or offer remediation to encourage mastery of standards.

As educators, we shouldn’t be asking students WHAT do you want to be when you grow up; we should be asking them WHO do you want to be when you grow up. It’s an identity question that allows the child to be confident in who they are and be shown the character traits through education that will allow them to live the life and purpose that they were created for.
